The Gem Den

Our shop/café in the small town of Mt Surprise has evolved over some 8 years. Our hobby giving us some 20 years experience of gem cutting and fossicking enables us to pass on lots of information to everyone who wants to ‘give it a go’.

Why Mt Surprise you ask? Well its only 45K away from O’Bien’s Creek Fossicking area where the ‘TRUE BLUE TOPAZ’ can be found. There are several forms of fossicking to have a go at in the grounds of the shop set amongst the native gardens. Everyone from novice to experienced young and old can have some fun.

Any gems found are appraised. If you decide to have some faceted we have a first class Faceting Service.
