This is just a short note to let you know that the two topaz stones you sent us have arrived safely. Thank You!

We are both delighted to have the stones for several reasons. They are beautiful, we found them and know where they came from. The day we spent fossicking with Pete was one of the highlights of our North Queensland tour. Not only was it an experience to look for the stones but then to find two which could be cut and to meet a diverse group of interesting people also doing a typically Australian thing.

May we also comment that your web site is excellent?

Thank you very much for your hospitality during my weeknd stay in Mt.Surprise. Espcially the Topaz trip to Obriens Creek was wonderful.  The Guide was very friendly and a man of much hospitality.

Please convey my best regard to him (sorry, forgotten his name).
Also I heard from him that you are planning to organise another Sapphire trip to Lava Plan, which can make difference from other fossicker's place like Anakie and GlenIness & Inverell. The guide told me that he would be there in coming Thursday and Friday in Anakie gem festival, but unfortunately I will reach there Friday evening time.  I could miss him then.

Since my finds are quite few, so I am planning to visit you again in near future and please let me know when you start organise the Sapphire tour to Lava Plain.

Today I received the earrings you cut for me from the stones we found on Friday July 2nd. I am delighted with them... and, Pam and Peter, thank you so very much for all the work you put into them. Sue received her package and is equally enthusiastic. I am wearing mine right now!

I have to tell you that for the whole of our 4 weeks of Queensland travelling, our stop of 3 days at Mount Surprise was the absolute highlight. I have told so many folks here in the suburbs of Wellington about our marvellous fossicking experience that somewhere along the way I am sure you will get more Kiwis fossicking with you. And like McArthur, "We will return".

We met 2 "old ladies".. (not that far removed from our ages, actually) at Innot Hot Springs, who had just spent 2 weeks at O'Brien's Creek. They had also been to Agate Creek... and of course, showed off what they'd found. This fossicking disease is certainly catching. Now, NEXT year.......

Dear Pam and Pete,

I received my topaz jewellery yesterday, the pendent and earings.  Pam, they are absolutely fabulous, you are so clever, and they are exactly as I wanted them in those settings and look even better than I had imagined.  Thank you very very much.

I must tell you that the time we spent in Mt Surprise and the day 'fossicking' was the absolute highlight of our 4 week trip to Australia.  Mt Surprise is so different to anything we have in NZ.  You guys were so friendly and helpful as if you had all day just to talk to us and nothing else to do.  You made us feel so welcome.

We enjoyed the rest of our trip and met lots of interesting travellers, mostly Australian grey nomads escaping the cold of the south.  I think we will definitely return to the Outback sometime and do some more fossicking, it was hard work but so rewarding finding something.  next year we plan to go to Europe for 4 months so it will probably be the following year.
