A morning dig for gemstones
Book into our fossicking tour and enjoy a morning digging at our mining claim, searching for gemstones.
Topaz, Aquamarine, and Smokey Quartz can all be found.
We supply
- All equipment needed
- Morning Tea and drinking water
- Our guide stays with you at all times
- Either travel in our vehicle or tag-along in your own (45km gravel road, 4x4 recommended)
- Meet at our shop in Mt Surprise at 7.45am
- Returns approximately 1pm

- Old clothes, you're going to get dirty
Although the area at the claim is rocky there is only a short walk to the dig. It's up to you how hard you dig and for how long.
It is suitable for anyone with a basic fitness level.
Also suitable for those with mobility and sight impairments.
Schools, organisations and groups are more than welcome to contact us for group rates.
This tour operates daily between April-October.

Family consists of Mum, Dad, and 2 children. Additional children in the family charged at child rate less 5%. Children are 5 - 14 years old. Under 5 years old are free. Senior card and carer card holders attract a 10% discount when booked directly with us. Prices valid 01/01/11 - 31/10/11.

Your guide will explain the basic geology of the area and the history of gem mining in the region.
This 3 hour trip takes you through a cattle station travelling part of the old Cobb & Co tracks. Crossing Elizabeth Creek into the granite country where tin mining and gem mining go hand in hand.
At 'Smoko' youo are welcome to wander and relax soaking in the beauty of the area.
We reccommend you bring- Hats-Sunscreen-Walking Shoes-Camera.
Cost for this tour is $39.50
Runs Monday/Tuesday 1.30-4.30 and Friday 2.30-5.30
Faceting
Our material or your own.
We are happy to appraise any rough material and discuss options for cutting it.
We have several cutters with varying styles and abilities only too happy to make your rough gems sparkle for life.
Cost of faceting Service:
$29.00 per carat for standard shapes and designs.
$32 - 35.00 for the more artistic touch.
The more artistic touch includes some exquisite designs created by Doug of
